Macedonia - Answering the Call
Why Go?
| The plans for this missions trip to Macedonia began as a result of a visit made by Andy and Bev Bishop to Alliance Bible Church. The Bishops have served with CAMA Services since 1975, and Andy is now the Assistant to the Director of CAMA Services. While they were in Russia, Bev Bishop began to offer continuing education classes to nurses. This program has now expanded to Macedonia as well. While Bev's description of this ministry and the need for nurses to come and teach provided the catalyst for the formation of a team from Alliance Bible Church, it became obvious that God had been at work for quite some time preparing each team member for this opportunity. | ![]() |

New people, new place but the same needs and wants and struggles and searchings. And the answers are the same there as here. Same God, same book of instructions, same answers from Him who hears." - Fran "After Kathy, Trudy and Fran came back from their trip 2 years ago I just had an overwhelming desire to go on a short term mission to ANYWHERE. Little did I know it would be to one of the same places they had gone to. I used to assume that since I would never have the money to pay for it there was no way I would be able to go but then I decided that if God wanted me to go He would provide a way so I began to pray about it. This was even before this opportunity to go to Macedonia had been presented. When Andy and Bev Bishop came to our church Kathy Evans informed Fran that she had 'volunteered' her to be the speaker at a retreat. I, half kiddingly because I still wasn't convinced that God wanted me to go, told Fran I would go with her. A couple of days later I received a card from Fran. 'Pray about it' she said so I did. I informed Kathy that I was interested and the rest is history." - Kathy "Ten years ago, my daughter called me at work and suggested I go to Russia to teach nurses for 2 weeks. I was not able to, nor did I feel any desire to do so at that time. But last year, I believe, the Lord made it clear to me that it's now time to answer a "call to Macedonia" - again to teach nurses." - Trudy |
