Short Term Missions: Macedonia
During the night Paul had a vision of a man of Macedonia standing and begging him, “Come over to Macedonia and help us.” After Paul had seen the vision, we got ready at once to leave for Macedonia, concluding that God had called us to preach the gospel to them. - Acts 16:9-10Macedonia’s capital city of Skopje is home to half of the population of the country. Less than 0.01 percent is evangelical Christian. The average Macedonian lives and dies having never prayed, having never read the Scriptures, and attending church only two times in his life—once for baptism as an infant and second for marriage blessings. The result is a people who are highly resistant to the gospel and attracted to the occult. One would think the land where the gospel was first preached would be one of the most Christian places on earth. Actually it is a place of peace-shattering hatred, ethnic strife, conflict, and almost no evidence of Christ and His gospel. But there is change in the air. - From the CMA website: Getting it Done in Macedonia

In November 2004, a team of five from Alliance Bible Church, spent two weeks in Macedonia. The group originally formed as a response to a need for RN-level nurses to teach courses as part of the CMA's Medical Professional Skills Enhancement program. Belynda and Trudy, both nurses, each taught one two-week module of the program to groups of nurses in Skopje. Fran shared her passion for God's Word and taught at a weekend retreat held for the Macedonian nurses. Kathy and Warren both went as ESL teachers. Kathy taught a group of doctors and nurses in Skopje, while Warren was sent to Negotino, just over 90km south of Skopje, where he taught English classes for various groups.
Come along as the team shares with you their experiences in Macedonia.
